serotta1972
What I love about Japanese trains are all the different front end designs, I had a Tokyo 5000 Series before but didn't like the livery but do like the front end design so when the Green Frog was released I had to have it. The Tokyo Metro Series 16000 is another design I really like and kinda unique. 8 Link to comment
JR 500系
aahhh the Green Frog! That is also a very nice livery! My favourite has gotta be the Shibuya Hikarie, followed closely by the Yokohama Y500 livery and this Green Frog! Really good news that Kato is doing the Tokyu 5050 series in all their lovely liveries! 1 Link to comment
serotta1972
I like the yellow front of the Shibuya Hikarie but not really liking the rest of the livery. I really like that they went full green wrap with the Green Frog livery. 1 Link to comment
JR 500系
Now that you mentioned it, just realised the Tokyu Shibuya Hikarie is 10 cars long, along with the original Tokyu 5050 livery, but the Green Frog is only 8-cars long, along with the Y500.... interesting.. Link to comment
serotta1972
Keeping with the Green theme this weekend and ran 3 variants of the 200 Series and a 100 Series Fresh Green. 6 Link to comment

serotta1972
I don’t own an E5, that reminds me I need to do an E3 and 400 Series Mini Shinkansen running session. Link to comment
serotta1972
Container trains running session, Kato Locos and rolling stock but containers are mostly Tomix. 3 Link to comment
serotta1972
American Intermodal trains running session, all Kato. 5 Link to comment
gavino200
I remember back when paired Gevos pulling Gunderson Maxis were my pride and joy!! I was never able to reliably speed match my Gevos though, which lead them to uncouple. I wonder if I switched out the couplers between the locos for rapidos, maybe I could get away with it. I also had a rake of those super tall car (automobile) carriers by 'microtrains' that were super unreliable. It was the frustration with that train that primed me for an enthusiastic leap into the world of Japanese trains. 1 Link to comment
serotta1972
A majority of my NA Locos and rolling stock both passenger and freight are Kato. I have Atlas, Microtrains, Wheels of Time and Fox Valley Models for the rest - detailing are really nice but an area they have missed the mark on are metal wheels and rolling quality. It's crazy that you're spending over $30 for a freight car and at times over $40 for a passenger car and they have plastic wheels. Kato locos and rolling stock may not be the most detailed but the locos sure run smoothly and rolling stock roll ever so freely and relatively inexpensive. 2 Link to comment
serotta1972
Took out the steam locos for some exercise, the fleet is growing ever so slowly and the C56 and D51-200 are on their way. I need a little color after running steam trains all weekend so I had the HB-E300's come out for a little spin. The motor cars have a fairly distinct whine, all three of them. The Resort Shirakami Buna Formation is blending into the scenery. 🙂 8 Link to comment
TimWay4
What is the steam train on the track closest to the camera at the back? I don't recognise it, but it looks cool 🙂 Link to comment
serotta1972
It’s a Kato C12, it is difficult to recognize the way it positioned. 1 Link to comment

I would guess so, since only Kato did the Shirakami Buna and Aioke, and the gap on the Furusato doesn't suggest it's MA, and knowing Junior, he probably would get the Kato one over the MA ~~ 😛 Just waiting to see the Asunaro join in with its brothers soon! serotta1972
Yes, Sammy is correct. They’re all Kato and am waiting for the next release. Link to comment
chadbag
They look nice. I have the KATO Shirakami Buna 4 car set and the MA 2 car sets for Asunaro and Furusato. (Got the MA as they were on killer deals on YA, new). I'd like to get the Aoike from KATO. I like the look of the HB-E300. Thanks for sharing! Link to comment
serotta1972
Ran my new Series 0 Fresh Green and a couple of his siblings. Still my favorite Shinkansen design. 6 Link to comment
serotta1972
Since I had the high speed banked track set up, I took out the TGV's for a spin. And the gap you mentioned Yavianice, it's there but it's greatly improved on the newer released TGV's. 6 Link to comment
serotta1972
Been messing with other scales lately, need to get back to my Japanese N scale trains. I'm kinda scratching my head for getting into the other scales and brands when with Kato, Tomix and the other Japanese brands - I have great quality and reliable trains at a relatively much cheaper price. Lesson learned and now giving my steam locos and appropriate rolling stock some love. 6 Link to comment
Kiha66
Man, here I am trying to down size and you start posting pictures like this! Time to see if there are any spare C56's floating around anywhere... 😁 1 1 Link to comment
