emkay_777
Greetings All, I just acquired a Kato EF510-500 (Kato #1-311) in HO scale and want to add a simple motion decoder. I've pored over the relevant posts in this section but still have no definitive answers. It looks like the last mention of this was about 2 years ago, so I'm hoping that someone would have installed one successfully since. I've read that some of the circuits on the board have to be cut ?? I am not going the sound route, so I'm thinking of using a Lokpilot decoder. Thoughts? Thanks. Evan Link to comment
inobu
Not too many HO decoder installs. I was curious myself and found one on you tube. It appears that you need to trim the metal chassis in order to get the board in. Link to comment
emkay_777
Yeah, I saw this prior to posting and at first it seemed daunting, but after studying closer doesn't seem that bad as I do have several HO installations under my belt (and a milling machine). Mine will be easier as I will be using a smaller decoder and no speaker UNLESS some kind soul will share an ESU loksound file for this unit . . . Edited December 4, 2015 by emkay_777 Link to comment
