katoftw
New pass available on April 1, 2016. Arrive Narita or Haneda. Spend seven days travelling along the Hokuriku Lines. Depart Kansai. https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/pdf/press_20151030.pdf Personal note:- This is around 6000 yen cheaper than a 7 day JR pass. Only services the inner Tokyo area. But the service area for Kansai is quite large. Both sides of Lake Biwako, Kobe, Nara etc. Edited November 21, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
JR 500系
Interesting... Another point is the pass also covers some non-JR trains like the Tokyo Monorail, IR Ishikawa railway Ainokaze Toyama Railway etc... And also it can be purchased in Japan itself. Link to comment
Eurostar25
Will definitely keep that in the back of my mind, particularly today as the wife out of the blue said "I want to go to Kanazawa on our next trip". I'll make sure that happens, any excuse to try the Hokuriku Shinkansen, then once back home I can pull it out of the box and at least justify the 12 car set on the layout. Link to comment
