This color scheme appeals to me, but I just noticed that it features a new

power system with a coreless motor.

 

I believe I've read previously that MPW power systems can destroy coreless

motors, so if I get this I should only run it with Kato and not Tomix packs?

I think it’s more the fact that coreless motors don’t dissipate heat as well (since there’s no core to act as a heat sink) so they can overheat at low PWM frequencies in the hundreds of Hz range.  There shouldn’t be any problems at the much higher 20kHz frequency used by Tomix CL controllers.  Given the prevalence of the N-S2-CL and other Tomix controllers at rental layouts, if there was a problem then you’d think Kato and Greenmax would at least have to print a warning on the outside of the box!
