Atobit
Hi Everyone, As my Japanese is very poor and my background of the Japanese railway history and train model not better, I need some help to clarify what I’ve got recently: It’s an EF64-1000 locos and wagons with the color of the first French TGV. Did the JR really colorized the E64-1000 as the TGV? Or it was more like a toy made by MicroAce? When this kit would have be made? In the early 80’s? railsquid
It's a special set produced to commemorate the inauguration of the TGV, so presumably 1981. As far as I'm aware this is a fantasy livery, as are the others in the range. Link to comment
Atobit
Thanks for the translation Railsquid! I'll clean it up and put the decal on it, and seated it by my TGV, for the fun. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Link to comment
railsquid
Knew I'd seen this referenced somewhere recently: The part outlined in red is about these sets, and confirms they were made in 1982/83 and that they're ficticious. Interestingly the stickers on the right include ones for the British APT but evidently MA never "did" that. Link to comment
Atobit
Great! On what magazine is has appeared? I'm curious to know why today they have mentioned those train set. Link to comment
railsquid
This one, which is a collection of articles on "historical" N gauge models which were previously published in "RM Models". Link to comment
westfalen
Reminds me of how Con-Cor in the 70's and 80's painted Kato Japanese electric locos and DD13's (sold as GE centre cabs) into several U.S. railroad paint schemes, but they made no attempt to acknowledge they were fictional.
