Devonbelle
Hi - Just attached a few pics of a trip my wife and I did a year ago with our two sons. We had a Japan Rail pass and did Tokyo-Kyoto (did the rail museum in Kyoto) and had some steam haulage. We were then back on the train after 4 nights to head to Hiroshima for a few nights and did the local train to Miyajima Guchi then the JR West Ferry to the island. Than after all that back to Tokyo by train. For another 4 nights. On our last day I was allowed off for the day - for good behaviour - so my wife took the boys up the Skytree tower and did the superb Kominato Railway - which was a throwback to a British branch line in the 1960s or 70s. Devonbelle
Few more of my photos added to the post, the mid green EMU is at Inari, in the suburbs of Kyoto. Some further pictures I took at Kyoto shed are included too, plus another Kominato Railway shot I took (at Goi) - and a freight shot I managed - passing South through Hiroshima - I saw a lot of freight on the trip but did always have the camera to hand. bikkuri bahn
Speaking of the Kominato Rlwy, currently a television commercial for a job listing magazine is being broadcast, the location being Goi Station: 2 Link to comment
