mattdwnunder
I look like acquiring an N scale brass and whitemetal kit and am after a recommendation for a kit builder who could put it together for me. I would prefer a kit builder that can read Japanese (the instructions are in Japanese) and is familiar with JNR steam locomotives. I live in Australia and am expecting that such a builder would be located in Japan. Willingness to deal with persons outside of Japan would be a bonus. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
They're not easy to build, so it's probably going to be rather expensive. I have a few World Kougei brass kits which I'm still working on (time permitting) and while things are going quite well, there's still bits and pieces that won't go together well. Not sure which brand of kit you got, but if it's World Kougei 1 of the more well known ones) the instructions will be fairly limited. However, you might be able to get in touch with them directly, they often have workshops and the like, so they might be able to get you in touch with someone in Japan. Building a kit takes many hours though, and a finished version is often 2.5 to 3 times the price of a kit version. Link to comment
Nick_Burman
Try Yoshiya Kobayashi - http://www.justmystep.justhpbs.jp/ - he regularly assembles kits for other people. Cheers NB Link to comment
cteno4
Might check with Modeltrainplus.com and loco1hobby.com as they may be able to find you both the kits and a builder. Cheers Jeff Link to comment
