So it has Pantographs and a Diesel engine or a Diesel engine to generate electricity to store in batteries to power the electric drive motor? Or both? Great concepts either way.

This one seems to be the diesel-battery type. The other two types are the overhead-battery and the overhead-diesel-battery variants. It's nice, but the battery capacity is only enough for 3 to 6 minutes of running, so they are more like boosters for fast acceleration and energy recovery during a station stop. The overhead-battery variants need more capacity to be usable.
