Guest keio6000
Hello all, Some time ago I posted about a neat train driving app called "Train Drive ATS". I just noticed that Train Drive ATS 2 has been released - I immediately bought it for my iPad. To call TDATS (1 and 2) a "train driving" app only is to sell it rather short. It's much more than that - the key behind it is that it actually models in a very comprehensive way, an entire (ficticious) private railway. In this case, it's "Inatetsu", complete with logo, very realistic timetable, "scissors diagram", and more. when you first get the app, you may find it a bit confusing or even "plain", but stick with it - it becomes incredibly immersive as you get to understand the system. No other sim on any platform will actually make you feel like a line driver in a Japanese railway company than this one. In other sims, the world centers around you - in ATS2, you drive as part of a larger railroad, and the immersive effect is, as i said, impressive. And here's the best part - at least for me: as a keio fan,- I am thrilled that the guys who made Train Drive ATS2 did so using Keio rolling stock. Wow. I am so lucky. It looks AMAZING. I heartily endorse this app at the very reasonable $6.99 price they sell it for--it's worth many times that as clearly it's a labour of love. I do hope that some things can be improved: There is also a free "light" version; I didn't bother with that but just went straight to the paid version. - bring back announcements! IIRC ATS1 had passenger announcements. The lack of these in ATS2 makes things a bit quiet - The user interface needs a bit of improvement. Or rather, it needs quite a bit of improvement. - The english language in the game can be improved in a few places. I am trying to make a list and will forward it to the developers when i am done. very, very highly recommended for ipad users! (note the below screenshot i guess is the japanese language version - if you buy this from an english speaking appstore you will get the english version. this japanese version has an option "keio" at lower right - my english version does not have this) Edited July 16, 2015 by keio6000 2 Link to comment
bikkuri bahn
The screenshot looks alot like Chofu Station pre-undergrounding, though the junction trackage layout differs. And the building right above the platforms wasn't there. I guess it's the imaginary setup. Link to comment
Guest keio6000
yes, it's totally imaginary. but the overall layout of "inatetsu" takes cues from keio, odakyu, and others in places. 1 Link to comment

Kitayama
I have used/played the first version, based on Tobu lines and vehicles. Very nice. Have to try the new version. Question: How do I get time for another nerd activity? (My wife's name for all the train related activities.) 1 Link to comment
Steve4031
This game is awesome. I'm not good at it yet. But it kept me from breaking the remote while the Chicago Bears got that ass whipped on Sunday. Stopping is a challenge. Makes you respect the precision of the true professionals. Link to comment
