They're more often used at the entry to their train room. OTOH, many model dispatcher offices have accurate CTC set-ups, sometimes using original railroad equipment. Link to comment

Their gimmick in advertising is that something unexpected happens (like a submarine runs up on an island or a guy falling down through the floor to the neighbour) and they remind you to always have Gevalia coffee at home in case you get unexpected guests (in Danish: Uventede gæster - which is written on the red/white band.)
