velotrain
The Pendon Museum in England is justly famous for its very high quality models and dioramas, but also has a large model railroad presence - including a pioneering, realistic layout from the 1930's. There are several videos on the site, and this one provides a three minute cab ride through a scale mile plus - one assumes OO gauge - 4 mm scale, of extremely well done trackwork and British countryside. Along the way you're passed by a quite long freight train - say, what happened to that fellow who claimed to run 200+ car freight trains in O scale? http://www.pendonmuseum.com/about/vale 1 Link to comment
railsquid
It's 4mm scale alright but IIRC the track gauge is 18mm (EM gauge). Despite growing up in the UK I'd never heard of Pendon until relatively recently. I suppose back in those dim and distant days, if you didn't happen to hear about it from someone or read about it in a magazine the chances of stumbling across it were quite slim.
