kvp Posted June 14, 2015 Share Posted June 14, 2015 These are all just preprogrammed industrial robot arms with not much in the way of sensors, not to mention intelligence. They simply replay a program that is stored on a computer. This is exactly the same what the first punch card operated mechanical looms did. Anything that has a dumb goal based ai and can react to its environment would be a good step towards a basic ai, but right now an out of the box aibo is way more intelligent and dangerous than any of these mechanical arms. 1 Link to comment
