NHK World Show: Cool Japan

Hmmm, I might try to catch up on this; if only for the subject matter. Japan is cool, Japanese trains are cool, and any program which covers the two is, by extension, cool - except 'Cool Japan' isn't, it's rubbish.

For anyone on the forum who lives in Australia and wants to catch this show or any other NHK World programs (Train Cruise / Railway Journal) , Foxtel now include NHK world in their basic package.

(It's the only reason I agreed to let the wife get foxtel!)

blah blah blah is the correct description. i think most things proclaiming themselves cool turnout bad... cool is an external label that needs to be applied with the appropriate surfer dude accent with kuel not cool proounciation and a good slow bob of the head! ;-P

i do have a doppleganger on the show! guy from brittan looks pretty close, same face (he has a slightly bigger nose, but i would probably too if i hadn't played a lot of basketball and volley ball and had my nose flattened by balls), build, facial hair, receding hair line, only main difference is the accent and he puts his extra long hair in the back into more of a topknot instead of a pony tail like i do. was pretty funny when another club member saw it and pointed me to the episode, kinda weird to see someone looking that close to you on tv!

Any program that requires the foreign participants/commentators to be residents of Japan less than 1 year is not cool.  Subject matter of course very cool.

So glad we had previous context.  However, I delete it in my quote and yeah, I am an amusing 5 year old again.  :D
