A place to quickly post what we accomplished on our layout each day. Some days we would get more then others. We could look at this thread as encouragement to do more each day. No a layout is never done but by just putting in 10 minutes or 3 hours each day, we can all be a big step closer to being finished. So what did you do today on your layout?

Noticed this at the local bookstore- it's a special edition magazine about the 2015 JAM convention, from the publishers of RM Models. Lots of pics of layouts- a few very good modular layouts and dioramas in HO and N that are very prototypical, not just the roundy-roundies with lots of viaducts and minimal scenery. https://www.neko.co.jp/?p=104205

I was looking around for sites that would show N gauge layouts contributed by users, and maybe include Kato or Tomix part numbers. I searched on a few terms (in Japanese), but I didn't really find anything similar to what I had in mind. Does anyone know of such sites?

Now that I am settled into my new place, I am beginning to think about layouts. I have an office, which is very nice—it's about 8'x12' (2.43m x 3.65m), and most of the space near the floor is taken up by desks, shelves, and lots of windows. I was thinking about doing a shelf layout up high, above all the fray, but it would have to be quite high indeed—about 7' (2.14m) off the ground. Even I am not that tall! I worry that it would be hard to enjoy, being hard to view while sitting at my desk, or even standing. Anyone have opinions or experience with building layouts high up like that?
