  1. JR East has refurbed two KIHA 100 cars. They have new interiors, a new livery, and new numbers. Formerly 110-108 and 100-29, they are now 112-711 and 103-711. The service is called the HIGH RAIL 1375. The Koumi Line's highest elevation above sea level is 1,375m, which is the highest elevation of any JR line.
