  2. Nahhh, I don´t think so... here are my reasons why the section of the route cannot be set: 1. Alternative route to the Moruran Main Line for passenger and freight traffic in the event of unforeseen events, for example the eruption of Mt. Usu in 2001 2. Tourist traffic for skiing and hiking athletes (Kutchan and Niseko area) 3. Conversion of the route into a third sector railway line But maybe JR has other plans too? Resumption of the SL C62 Niseko? In any case, it would then be possible again, as the arrival times for tourists would be significantly shorter than in the 1990s. Edit: found this Informations.... I didn't even notice that Cathy Cat left the show. I was just wondering why this extreme moderation is no longer there and the show is moderated more calmly again. To me the people looked similar! 😂

@cteno4 The controller could be the radio knob in the car or the centrifugal forces of cornering like a roller coaster?! In any case, you'll get a lot of attention, even from the police 😅 🚔🚨👮‍♂️👮‍♀️ If you're lucky, you can convince him of the idea and he'll play with it himself...
  4. Or for anyone who has flown RyanAir, no seat allocation at all. First on the plane gets their choice 😄

Super something to keep me entertained behind you at the stoplight! Looks good to go. Just need to run the controller up to the front see so you can run it via the rear view mirror (well I guess I was running a train won’t be an excuse when you rear end someone though…) jeff
  7. When using the Kato Digitrax 29-352 FL12 DCC Decoder, you can use CV61 and CV64 to choose which F function allows you to turn the headlights on and off. Either F0, F3 or F5. See the table below. F0 is the default value. I have not tried that myself, but I assume you could program the two FL12 decoders at the coupling ends to react to a different function key (for example F3). This would allow you to use the F3 key function to switch off the corresponding headlights, while keeping the other two on. Marc

    That's a typical grass matt

    Toyama Portram LRV Layout

That's an old post from 15 years ago. This layout is similar.

So, I was wondering, what is the track sitting on? Is that a grass mat, or did you scenic the area? Thanks!

So... is this a very good idea or a very bad one, lol? (might make a proper thread for it in the layout planning section if I ever make it a real thing)
  12. Use to love the old southwest loading on the commuter flights from sf to La. You got a numbered card randomly when you checked in and just lined up by number and chose what ever seat you wanted. Single commuters primarily day trippers so few large carryons. The plane was loaded amazingly fast and easy. Helped most of the crowd did the flight once or twice a week. Liked the random aspect of it and no privileges (they did do a pre board for babies and folks that needed time/help). For a tall guy like me I would forgo the front of the plane to get off faster to try and snag an exit row. jeff
  13. Boarding by "columns" vs. rows may board a plane faster but the poor folks sitting in the aisle rows tend to have no overhead space for their luggage once it's their turn to board. Whereas in the row boarding method, the chances of no overhead space when you get to your row is less. Though there are those who sit in the back rows and throw their bags in the front row overheads of the plane. This causes all kinds of discombobulations. 😠
  14. I made this one more of a showcase instead of a mood thing like the previous one.
  15. I was not a big fan Cathy Cat either but the new person doesn't seem to be an improvement. Really prefer the previous presenters but I guess I am living in the past. Glad Ryo is still on the program. Tony
  16. I've also wondered how you'd need to set this up too. I've not yet made a leap into DCC but if so, will probably start with the Kato DCC ready options. Essentially only turning off the the coupling ends head and tail lights. (turning off E5 car 10 and E6 Car 11, whilst keeping car 1 and 17 respective head/tail lights on) Would the coupling ends DCC addresses need to be different from the rest of the formation or are there decoders that allow more option than all on or all off in the multiple unit? "Consisting" from what I've seen from You tube tutorials seems to be geared for locos whereby the head loco has a headlight and the trailing locos are all lights off. What would be best for EMU/DMU set ups?
  17. Interesting. I had never heard, or experienced, this before. We actually got the same thing coming back but ANA allowed us to board at the same time, on her zone, when I asked. FYI we were in Premium Economy in the outside seats, so only 2 in our part (3 in the centre seats). Looking like we will be back in Japan next May as I will be going to Vietnam for work so will be doing an extended stop-over.
  18. Taking ANA to Japan recently was the first time I've ever experienced that 'window seat first' boarding order. Seemed to work really well!

  20. I just saw this article recently. Lots of folks study this in modeling as well as real world tests! https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/there-are-quicker-ways-to-board-a-plane-so-why-dont-airlines-use-them/ jeff
  21. Instead of boarding back to front or front to back (which seems illogical), some airlines like United, board window rows, middle rows and then aisle rows. Supposedly most efficient of the possible boarding patterns (probably some PhD's dissertation - 🤣). That explains why the both of you are different boarding groups even though you are sitting next to each other.
  22. Yes, all decoders on each set have the same address and I want use to consisting to combine the two trains
  23. Just a suggestion, but maybe as a slight, but still somewhat maintenance-easy distinction from the usual SL black livery, how about something resembling the CSD Czechoslovakian railways steam fleet? In the later days of steam there as late as 1954 newly built engines had a handsome blue but pragmatic livery. Some were green while others were black.
