The blue Hino Poncho with flowers is perfect for the Aozora Smile buses in Katsuta.  A

That is quite a haul! Very nice!

That Poncho is kinda rare and cute! Gotta love these mini buses!

My turn to post a few stuff that came in recently.... First from Ami:

I love the buses (as usual), and finally a really nice Odakyu 8000 in painted livery!

20200430_103301.thumb.jpg.b131857c36d2c680df516f97617f81a5.jpg

The picture doesn't do justice to the livery, but the cute little pictures of crabs and other stuff is really pretty neat!  🙂

Next another parcel from Mandarake, going for an ok price and is something that is pretty interesting to me...

A Kato yes! Literally... a KATO train!  😛

In a pretty cute mini two car box set.... even comes with a nice KATO collar pin! Nice!

The graphics printed on are really pretty nice, and that KATO head board is awesome! I'm missing an older type 205 series so this fits in nicely!

20200512_084719.thumb.jpg.5583850abbfcc365a5c19d5220c771ce.jpg

While it is listed as used, the wheels are sparkling new and looks really NEW! Love the condition listing in Japan!

Side question, was this KATO train really ran on the Saikyo line previously? Didn't see much videos on this....

The cute mini buses that Aozora Smile and the Oarai Loop Buses run aren't actually Hino Ponchos, but these are close enough and cute enough for Shorty modelling purposes!

Kato Seibu 101 series (original style) by Rail Squid, on Flickr

I double-checked the auction description, no mention of that. This is about the 5th time I've had this happen.

Buying used trains in the United States: almost all details are broke off, 'custom' paint job that looks like it was put on with a paint roller, poor (if any) decals, motor is fried, still asking close to retail price because 'it's a collectible'

Buying used trains in Japan: there's a small scuff on the sleeve you can hardly see, one of the wheels popped out of the bogies but it is included along with a replacement set of wheels, find out that the previous owner installed lighting, costs a fraction of the retail price

I'm going to go bankrupt if I ever go to Japan.

and most importantly they sell it as "junk" 😄

When the 'you have a fee' letter arrives, contact them and ask them to forget about the £13.50 charge due to this error. It's quite possible that they may well accept!

Well it has made it as far as Perth, only 45 minutes from here and no one is answering the phones, just go round in circles with various options eventually leading to being hung up on.

£12.03 VAT + £12 handling fee for them to process my package quickly through customs, if 14 days is quickly I'd hate for them to take their time.

Not quite sure why I have this, most likely was bidding on something else and added it because an additional item wouldn't incur any extra postage charges.

lol! Now that’s rationalization at work! Something tells me it will work with us but not mrs railsquid 😜

Nice big heavy loco anyway.

Because Hokkaido (amongst other places)!  You're just yearning for a visit to your local line.

That's sometimes a consideration.

Maybe you could say it was passing through the area to be converted to a DF200-200 variant, that said they have only used the DF200-100 Series for conversions.

As I couldn't get any one on the phone I paid the full fee to be told it was scheduled for delivery on 15/05, today is 16/05 still nada 🥵

Yeahhh I'd make a complaint... They won't usually deliver on a Saturday unless you pay an extra £12.

Were I made "Dictator" of the UK, I'd remove Parcelfarce from the face of the earth! They're utterly useless... plus all their fees etc...

I'd much rather EMS parcels went to Royal Mail - at least they're less imcompetant, generally quicker, and have lower fees.

Indeed I'd consider bringing back the old Red Star Parcels! (Along with all the guards vans etc)

I wouldn't mind @ranger10178 but it's the same flaming company with Royal Mail being the parent, yet they charge less than Parcel Farce

Nice looking stable there @railsquid 👍

Final big box of Cassiopeia to complete the train just arrived from Mandarake, shown here with the earlier acquisitions which we just pulled out so we could admire the whole hoard.

Bandai's packaging is set up such that you tend to wind up with some number of extra cars if going for the full set of 12.  The big deluxe edition boxes come in an A and B set, each with 2 different engines and 5 cars.  Shown here is the B set which includes the blue EF 510-501 and red EF 81-81.  The regular packages A, B, and C each contain 3 vehicles; the A set includes the silver EF 510-509.

Deluxe box A & B, plus regular Box C is the one combo that would provide 12 cars plus an optional inspection car and a choice of 4 engines without duplicates. We had already begun collecting the smaller sets before the bigger one came along on Mandarake though.

Toyland Clover is where we got our small 3-car Cassiopeia sets, I see they still have some in stock.

No idea what shipping options Toyland Clover might have right now though.

I picked up my Kyushu Car Train up from the customs office earlier and upon fitting the knuckle couplers I discovered that the passenger cars already had lights installed by the previous owner. Quite nice for the cheapest one I could find anywhere for ¥14.000 + shipping 😄

I‘m excited to try it (and all the other stuff) at the club‘s layout today or tomorrow 🙂

I love the D51 from the Set. Nice that you must fit the Number Plates by youself which make it possible to buy a Class multiple Times.

A cavalcade of packages are en route now.  EuroRail is up from the basement today, MicroMark tomorrow, more in transit.

The big scenic sheet from Busch is cobblestone pavement, the swirling patterns match the walkways along the docks at the Nakaminato Fish Market.

Finally!

large.delivery.jpg.bbc759ca530297c0734784b2764921c7.jpg

6000 JPY plus 2400 JPY EMS shipping (in a box you could get 2 boxed starter sets in), £12 VAT, £12 ParcelFarce Admin fee.

Works out around £88 so at less than £9 per item, I guess I can't complain, couldn't get it here for that money, but what a farce they made of delivering it.
