What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Add on set for my "Bullet Train" 0 Series Shinkansen. Second hand from an auction. I'm always amazed by the condition of Japanese second hand. I feel that in the US it would have been passed off as "new/unused". Also two cute Hello Kitty buses that I couldn't resist.

Just got back from Japan a week or so ago.  Kyoto was an EXTREMELY expensive city for me.

A little bit of both.  I do have a Z scale layout that probably isn't as well known as my N gauge layout:

I fear if I lived in japan I would buy all my trains like this and be running a large repair shop!

I like to pretend I haven't got a hoarding problem.

Speaking of which, here's a double-billing of @Sheffie's nemesis, the MicroAce DD51:

640px-microace-dd51-1156-dd51-1805_01.jp

If it's any consolation, the one on the left is currently a non-runner, and the one on the right is missing a set of steps, but I only paid 3,000 yen for the pair so hard to complain. I think I'll try and fix up the one one the left and sell it on, as it's Hokkaido-based and not really relevant for my purposes.

Given the Cold Region unit is in JRF livery, many of them were shipped south to Aichi working out of Inazawa depot, sadly though there are not  many left as they are being progressively killed off.

Aha, looks like this one (DD51-1156) made it:  https://railf.jp/news/2016/04/08/110000.html

and was still active as of the end of 2018 at least: http://blog.livedoor.jp/z2f100064/archives/35674323.html

As it was serviced in Omiya on the way, I am sure it will have had some reason to run about the Tokyo area, though I'd have to remove the snowplough... Gaaah, is there nothing which can't be justified?

Later in this episode of "Japan's Craziest Train Hoarders" we'll show how this Tokyo-based cephalopod was unable to resist this Tomix EH500 1st series at 3,400 yen unboxed but in otherwise excellent condition, and was delighted to discover it fits just nicely into a standard Kato case.

Worst case if you can't fix it you can use it as a dummy or one being shipped to the scrapper's torch. Also you get a good look at the way a MA DD51 goes together.

I’m quite interested in that 783系 myself @JR 500系 Very nice indeed.

My first posting of 2020 as I received a smaller box from Ami Ami with my C57 1 SL Yamaguchi to run alongside the D51. I went with the red plates on both for special occasion running. As well as a nice Kyushu electric ED73 which Santa put under the tree for me.

A couple of Casco cases, one Shinkansen type for my BR Intercity 225 (90s Farish with only one cracked axle gear!) and a red 12 slot one for Tomytecs. That gives all my Tomytec fleet a proper home instead of flimsy card.

I am amazed how little interest there seems to be in repairing and reassembling "junk" stock in Japan. Weird part is I keep finding ebay listings self-described as junk at absurd prices, either they got the decimal point in the wrong place or they're hoping someone will really pay £50 for a single EMU car.

Magnificent, isn't it?

Casts eye over acres of restored stock sold cheaply because "noisy" or "non-runner" or "broken corridor connector" or "packaging has slight tear".

A Greenmax Set that I got on an auction site. The seller forgot to send the load covers in the initial shipment. They are in the small Plastic Kato box.

It's a 4-loco set of EF58s in experimental livery issued by Kato for their 30th anniversary.

It is a nice one.  I got one on eBay over a year ago for a really good deal.

A few more buildings. Although one if them has been taken over by out of scale Sailor Guardians.

Sad to say. That SMJ are closing down. So this was my last delivery from them.
