No surprises here, same old good solid packing ~ Neither here, every single item individually bubble wrapped Tobu bus set Okinawa Bus set A 3-car Kiha-283 to finally complete my Kiha 283 ~ All full 9-cars in a box, just what i love! Bus Collection 29 full box! Will we get the secret? Yeah we got a 'secret' all right... The rude surprise came when my bus, which arrived new in sealed box, was missing a rear axle... searching here and there even in the box and the bus collection box is futile and i had to contact Rail Rokko for this... My very first item that was 'defective' bought NEW from a supplier.... And nope we didnt get the sercet this time... aaawwww... 7 Link to comment

roadstar_na6 Posted July 18, 2021 Share Posted July 18, 2021 Please keep us posted about it, I'd like to know how Tomytec handles this. I also got the KiHa283, but the regular 6 car set. It's nice but the pendolini-mechanics cause some issues on the club layout it seems, I need to get some lead tape and glue it into every car's roof, as increasing the weight helped a lot when I did it to the motor car. The parcel from RG-R also contained some Kato couplers for the upcoming Seibu E31, an empty Casco case, a 12 car urethane to be able to put the E231-500 into one case instead of two and the Tomix Fine Track Deck Truss bridge (not sure what to do with it yet, but having > needing). 🙂 Link to comment

But he did not do it for the bus collection (presumably not to damage the wrapping). So, an interesting coincidence that in THAT box there was a missing part. Anyway, hope you get it sorted! The time scale could have been faster but I contacted them throughout the initial lockdown period in Japan so I certainly don’t have any issue with my dealing with them. I would imagine retailers would have far more ability to rectify any issues and this is clearly a manufacturer assembly issue that could be easily sorted. Let’s hope Tomytec can just post you the missing part as i imagine the part is used on multiple models in this case. It reminds me, I have a missing cab part in one end of my Kato EF81 TwEx colour bought in about 2014 on a trip to Japan. Got back to the UK and then realised that one end didn’t have a cab light, but was missing the green cab detail. That was a factory sealed jewel case with a plastic clear band around it. I need to contact Kato to see if they can send or sell me one rather than me having to buy a complete new shell. As they are releasing it later in the year. Link to comment

Oh well, I'm still waiting on the foamboard I plan on using for my diorama anyways (not to mention the stuff I've ordered from Japan). We'll see how it goes! Since I've never done anything like this I'll probably make a thread to keep myself motivated/help catch my worst mistakes. Is the Layout subforum the right place, even if I don't plan on building a full layout? For now! 3 Link to comment

My guess is: It´s a plan of the not so secret sales department 🙂 The M250 seems to be an easy choice. As far as I have seen it will be Mc250-3 and -4 again? For Mc250-1 and -2 I could have got weak. I sent 2 tickets to the lottery, and it seems I've lost. Anyway, you've got one of the 65 dedicated gold EF65. I don't know whether it comes from my screen (I don't think so, it's calibrated for photo post-processing ...) or your picture, but the loc looks more bronze than gold, esp. compared to the box itself.
