It's from here, but I'm afraid it's a little out of scale, would not recommend. 😄 2 Link to post

railsquid
Not exactly new, but I've had this Tomytec Ginza Line "2053 formation" sitting in its box for a whole while, and recently got round to sorting out the box of accumulated Tomytec parts and it turned out I had all the right bits to convert it into a running model. Das Steinkopf
I received my first order from RG Rokko today and I’m very impressed, ordered on Sunday night shipped Monday afternoon. I got it for ¥21,125 which included shipping, that is cheaper than Hobbysearch could have done it before tax and shipping was added. 7 Link to post
Kamome
Today I received a few small items of n gauge freight. 2x twin sets of Kato Taki 10600 Myojo cement tankers for my ED19 to pull. The ED19 is not the new released version although i don’t think it differs that much. This one is 3078, released a few years ago. Also got my Shiki 1000 big cars for transporting heavy machinery. The 3 of these are still in use although they were bought by JR freight so no longer have the Nippon Express logos on them. The model was cheap and with some weathering and those horrendous silver wheels being replaced with some nice blackened Kato ones, its actually not a bad model for the price. I have also seen some more modern looking transformer loads on Shapeways. I have struggled to find photos from the 1970s of these things being used. Lots of modern ones being pulled by an EH200 or an EF65 2000. 10 Link to post

Sr.Horn
Years after my first purchase, one of Reyes' gifts has finally arrived! (Reyes = January 6th, traditionally the day that spaniards receive the presents instead Christmas). A TOMIX JR 211-3000 Nagano Area bought in Amazon.de via Japanzon. Now I'm still waiting more gifts bought in Hobby Search. 5 Link to post
disturbman
Becoming @railsquid Bought a really cheap MA Joban line 103 series set on Mercari (A0553). International and domestic shipping were for free. The set was listed as junk because of a noisy and non-smooth running motor. The boggies on the motor were not properly clipped and one of the motor shaft was dislodged. The vise was stuck. After putting everything in place, removing a bit of grease from one of the boggies, the motor is running without any problem. A bit more maintenance is probably required but it’s enough for the moment. I’m very happy, feels like I got a train for free. Unfortunately, no interior lighting. Ty, Tibor There’s a number of possibilities although n scale products are 1:160. The loads that the Shiki comes with are fine but will look into other options. They do match the Tomix substation model from what i can see. Modern images of the actual wagons have loads similar to those on Shapeways. https://www.shapeways.com/marketplace/miniatures/trains?type=product&q=transformer Edited February 6 by Kamome Link to post

A bit more practice and you'll get the knack of surprise interior lighting as well 😉 4 Link to post

I’ve been tempted to get one of these as they vaguely fall into my interest with the Iida-sen but I am more into the the section south of Iida, sadly the services these units run on terminate at Iida, I got to see one there back in 2017. https://flic.kr/p/Zjo3c3 Link to post
Kamome
Today I found a little shop tucked away behind our new place called Treasure Trains. It’s quite a small shop, but the guy really knows his stuff. Most of the stock, HO and N looks to be RRP but he has some stock that is difficult to find. The shop looks in its infancy at present but certainly good to have something on my doorstep. Anyway, the guy took one look at the silver Tomix wheel set and found my some replacement black wheels for my Shikis. I will post the improvements in the relevant thread once i have completed. Also got some Kato shortening knuckle couplers (28-187)for between the consist. I have some between my Taki rakes and I love the prototypical looking distance. 5 Link to post

Afaik KATO does not sell them separately, but other brands, most notably TORM, does. https://1999.co.jp/eng/10660256 Link to post
ED75-775
Christmas just came again... 😁 Today’s latest haul from Zenmarket - four steam locomotives, a Taki 3000 tanker, the SL Yamaguchi coaches and some miscellaneous Assy parts for my old ED75s. Out of all the steam locomotives, three have real significance to me: I saw the C57 135 at Ōmiya in the Railway Museum; travelled behind the D51 200 on the SL Yamaguchi; and finally saw the C57 1 under overhaul at the Kyoto Railway Museum. The C12 (my second) is because I’m a sucker for cute and to me, these locomotives are just plain cute... 10 Link to post
