What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

I see. Yes, they reused their N700 foam for this. It's not exactly shocking, it's quite usual for Tomix. We saw that very clearly with the Hinotori; or with the 485s, 115s, etc. There is no generic 8-car foam inserts for shinkansens, each are adapted to the form of the train (nose, insulators and pantos). They would have had to design an urethane specifically for that set since it's the only 6-car N700.

Made it back to Joshin yesterday.

Tomix JNR covered wagons x 5. Type WAMU8000.

Tmix open wagon x3. Type TORA7000.

Of course there was the "l don't remember buying those"......

KATO EF60 (3094-4)

Tomix 8607 Kinuura Rinkai Diesel Loco type KE65.

Nearly everything has to go back to Perth by ship due to luggage restrictions, her shit is more important than mine.

Bye for now.

Wow! Don’t wrench your back on that guy! Will be fun if you get a customs check of the luggage with all the toys in there. Happened to me once when coming back from Japan for the first time and the customs agent asked what was in my extra carryon duffle and I said “wind up toys”. He didn’t believe me and asked me to open it and I did. His eyes got big and he was like a little kid for a few minutes and had me demonstrate one of them. Nicest experience I ever had at customs check.

Not bought a shinkansen for a very long time but have a like of the JR East variety. I’m going to coin the phrase “Higashin” Higashi Shinkansen if it’s not already been invented 😁

I was particular taken with the real E2 in this colour so couldn’t resist it painted in the 200 series cream and green. I’m not convinced they will do another run of these and especially unlikely if the real train gets repainted at some point so glad I preordered.

It’s a simple livery but has been well executed and the train looks quite smart and spot on colour to the 200 kato model.

Slightly disappointed they didn’t decide on a special liveried bookcase or jacket but not a deal breaker.

Looking forward to running this one.

My package from HS arrived earlier than expected this morning.
When unpacking, I realized that I had forgotten to order the bogies for the chassis, for a 4-car set "Yakumo", when ordering... 😫

So order these missing parts again....

I was going to resist buying that one until I saw it in person in Japan last November. Suddenly, I needed it.

Even the E5 next to it has that open mouthed "Oooooooh" look upon seeing it.

Im back again with some more Kato stuff. Today the mailman dropped of my Kato V11 set I'm very excited about those superelevated curves and running two trains at the same time.

I finally got a few trams from RG Rokko and some related motored chassis including TM-LRT05 waiting for its Utsunomiya body due in the summer, and a Shinano Line 2-car set for good measure. The service was excellent, and some good older models in. I have not run any of them yet though, as I am getting the layout taken care of.

A couple of these require TM-LRT01 which seems to be flagged as discontinued and missing everywhere. Does anyone know if other models can be used instead?

These Plarail deluxe sets or limited edition sets were too cheap to pass up on Amazon JP (about $29USD or less):

NOTE: There is a TakaraTomy sale going on Amazon JP until the end of the month (For Plarail, you'll see 5% discounts if you buy more than one and some with Y100/Y200 off).

The Galaxy Dreamline C58 Type 239 SL Galaxy Train is a re-release but Takara Tomy updated the train cars.  So has gradiant blue colors and somewhat transparent plastic.  But right now it's going for Y38 USD.

No way am I missing out on the Twilight Express Mizukaze and the Train Suite Shiki-Shima at its current price on Amazon JP.

The 200 E2 SEries and E3 double Komachi set is on sale for and with the discount, came to about $36 USD.

The Alfa-X has six train cars and it's on sale for $23.50

Someone was selling it for $26.40 USD (Y3521), had to pick it up for this price (but this one unlike the others had a larger shipping cost)

I didn't bite with the KATO Limited Edition 787 "Around the Kyushu" was released back in 2020 (and regretted it).  But at $19 USD (Y2544 on Amazon JP), couldn't pass this one up:

52809219418_b9d43bf4db_h.thumb.jpg.65f07950c7de6dd634cf3b4f0f9837fb.jpg

Geez, didn't know Plarail had a Linear Maglev L0 series [L0 Superconducting Maglev Improvement Prototype]:

52808969309_6526d23254_h.thumb.jpg.b77bb73ed0ad85198a3e999ff0946165.jpg

Also, picked this up because it was like $5.50 US (746 yen):

52809173960_068d2d2053_h.thumb.jpg.84f41980f70eb676949181c052170b7d.jpg

I never was able to get a TOMIX or KATO Evangelion 500, so I'll settle with the Plarail:

52809221308_be41bc0fe1_b.thumb.jpg.83ee1477468a3b714c24fb0ce43f7230.jpg

And picked up the 75th anniversary issue of "Tetsudo Mokei Shumi" which was just released and the these two DVD magazines of "Tetsudo: The Last Run".

And as for the N Gauge:

Shouldn't be possible to use another one. You might find some on the Japanese used market, or wait until Tomytec re-release it.

Kato 7010-3. Wish I’d bought 2 at the time as it was double headed for the royal train. I assume due to its questionable reliability. DD54-1 and DD54-2 were assigned to pull the Emperor so had the usual silver couplers and shutters steps.

Interesting one of yours has a JR badge. Did the odd one make it to privatisation? Thought they’d all been scrapped by about 1978.

I always favoured the early model with the headlights on the roof.

The 2 HO middle and blue train versions are from the Zoukei Mura SRS range. Fantastic models although a lot of hand rails to install.
