What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Another order from Hobby Search after Plaza Japan cancelled a tram order for no stock. A Tomytec Hiroden 700 series tram with a modern body and traditional running gear and noises along with a Kato 11-108 Pocket Line Tram Power Chassis.

I shipped my order EMS. There was no handling charge or HST on this order, but not necessarily so lucky with bigger orders. I think the upper limit is $40. Above $40 the handling charge and  HST is charged.  Much better than DHL with an enormous service charge and HST without any minimum threshold.

There is some English on the back side of the 11-108.  "DO NOT operate this locomotive on DCC #00 (analog address) operation.  It will cause serious damage to the locomotive and will void the warranty."

"Maximum DC12V"

20 cars? Omg I want pictures 'in action'!

Will do once they arrive, should make a nice long train for running at the club!  Trains of this length weren't uncommon at one point on JNR.

My other package showed up today.

Which btw is splitting shipments a good idea? I feel like I could have ended up spending less shipping both of those packages at once..

Anyway,

Full Kato Niseko express set with C62-2 and C62-3. This was the one I had to find to make my planned model in general.

And some various tomix station parts that I'll leave the why they are packed so they dont get lost or separated.

After this it will probably be a week or two until my next one which will have some other auction hauls but then I'll take a pause except for some spoked wheels and lighting kits.

Anyway! Super excited to have this set. Which is one I owned in the past, but stupidly decided Nscale wasn't for me and sold and doubled down on HO.

A shipment from RG Rokko of Tomytec trams and long sought after power unit:  Nagasaki 3002, Nagoya 2000, Nagasaki 1501 and TM-LRT02. This brings my Tomytec tram body and tram power unit total to 65. I will place another order tonight. For some reason I always order more in spring.  I know it's still winter but it feels like spring. These order are another effect of the Ding Shiden videos and the resumption of EMS shipping.

I recently received some bits from the widow of a former club colleague for helping out with the disposal of his collection.

She presented an unopened box from Plaza Japan, which unfortunately arrived on the day of his funeral. We had a quick look and I was told if I wanted them, I could take them. A small but interesting haul...

A couple of packets of people

A kit for Kato Unitrack under-viaduct shops

A Greenmax apartment kit

A Modemo Tokyo Toden 7000 series single-car tram.

7002.thumb.jpg.d4b6ca8af562e72bc039e1d67017cf8c.jpg

I have a lot of Tokyo stuff - including any number of buses and taxis - but not any of the Tokyo Toden trams. Until now that is...

I did see one briefly when I was in Japan in 2008. It caught me a little by surprise out of the coach window, so not a great picture...

Good old Arakawa Line - the only piece of Tokyo area rail with enough charm, character, variety and (still extant) history to hold my interest in the long term. I was usually too busy to be able to get out of the city to visit a local line - but being able to go to the trams at any time was a fine compensation.

Amazon Japan comes through with good pricing on these micro sets. Chose the cheaper shipping option that used SF Express (hand off to UPS Ground) and took 1 week from pick-up to delivery.  Nice little runners and very good pullers for their size. No way one of these should be able to pull as well as they do (but any elevation change in the track and that's it) Push/Pull videos

Hello again,

I just got Kato 485 series last week.
Kato recently updated its motor and runs quite well and so quiet! I love running sound on the rail! E05F1BEA-7707-473A-BAA8-2D9A7FD3410F.thumb.jpeg.2fe0d7e3329b279463958a81928670e3.jpeg3DAA74E6-4B8E-4920-987C-1A110B8206BA.thumb.jpeg.59532e000b00eeaf377fb349e15fcc82.jpeg

Some Nissan Cedrics in case I want to party like it's 1975:

Tomix Nissan Cedric (3 pack) by Rail Squid, on Flickr

That brings back memories of 1985 in Osaka. we stayed with Japanese friends and they had a blue model of the cedric, but it was looking quite faded and beaten up by then. due to my lack of Japanese language, i could never find out how they managed to keep it on the road. Must have been an expensive exercise with WOF/COF  inspections. I also remember being picked up in it from Kyoto to travel back to Osaka and the numerous toll roads. I think one was about 2000yen at the time

A second order of Nagasaki trams has arrived from RG Rokko. I now have 7 of 8 Nagasaki trams issued by Tomytec. Later this summer I hope to get a couple of TM-TR01  power units which have completely disappeared since the arrival of the Tomytec Prague and Leipzig T3s.  I have exhausted my budget so apart from a couple of small outstanding orders this is it for a good while. Awh, but it feels good!

where did you score the UH-1 from? I didn't realise tomytec had them. I was interested in the new set with rescue chopper from Tomytec . but realised it is a UH-2 with 2 blades and other differences.

I found them at Mandarake. You have to use for searching "Tomytec 1/144" 🙂

oh! wow!  the "old" GIMIX collection!

but the price has insanely rising, I have just a couple of wrapped F15J with afterburner add-on, it was a gift from Naoto but I had no idea about the current value, maybe is time to sell all my F-toys J-WING collection (excluding the Frecce Tricolori set, of course!)

(search 技MIX on yahoo and mercari 😉 )

Ciao!

Massimo

And with Tomytec there will always be another tram  to buy.  🙂   A little longer between Modemo offerings.

cheers. I haven't shopped with Mandarake before. I have the tomytec #922 and #923 sets that I paid around 2800yen for a few years back as well as a control tower which is getting close to finished. quite a technical build with all the etch parts including control panel and seats inside.
