Tenorikuma
I'm a total newbie at scratchbuilding, and I'm attempting to make a Kintetsu 22600 in HO scale (since I don't think I could manage that much detail in N scale yet). I have no idea what to do about the wheels, though. Do I need to buy separate wheels and screw them onto a special base? Should I buy a base? At this point, I don't care much if it's powered or not. Also, any idea who sells HO-scale trucks suitable for Kintetsu trains? Link to comment
marknewton
Tenorikuma, when you say "base", do you mean an underfame or chassis? Tomix have a few "equipped under floors" in their HO catalogue, although I don't know offhand whether any would be suitable for a Kintetsu 22600. The only trucks I know of in HO that are vaguely similar to what you need are those under the Tomix HO E231 cars. http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/report/ho/e231/fr_e231.html (Click on the button numbered four) But if you are considering scratchbuilding, you could easily build one truck frame as a pattern, and then cast as many copies as you need in resin. A useful basic guide to resin casting is here: http://members.optushome.com.au/duttonbay/casting.html Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
