BBC News: climate change and Japan's food supply

Here's an interesting article about the food supply in Japan, and how it could be affected by climate change.  The article says Japan imports 60% of total calories consumed.  Japan is self-sufficent in rice much of the time, which is quite an accomplishment considering how much of it is eaten.  The city referenced in the article, Ishiko, I cannot find at all.  Maybe the writer meant Ushiku, in Ibaraki-ken.

I am wondering what the forum's Japanese members think about this.  Also, we have many members from the Netherlands and Belgium, which would be badly affected if the level of the sea rises.
