Covid has put club and show events and getting together on hold for now. Our club is just doing zooms until things are in better shape to gather. Hard to socially distance and play trains...

I'm from Poland, but Hungary is close enough to get for a weekend meeting. I'm getting started with H0m, I'd like to know which scales/gauges do you work at.

We use N scale, with Kato Unitrack system on our T-tracks.

Only N scale and T-Trak?

Hi All!

It was long time i post progress.

So first I order some box of model scene bushes and began make the vertical vegetation:

On the first modul (the south entrance) i made a little suburban station, it’s not an exist station, this modul made just connect the standard T-trak line with Kawasaki. I gave the name Minami-Kawasaki.

I use greenmax overbridge kits, with a little modification:

The first steps:

20200322_111836.thumb.jpg.724c15369ecf6dcd8da802483c3ee3b3.jpg

Next i modified the Kato one-side platform, and build a newspaper stand from Kobaru board, add some seat, advertisement, and tomytec figures, and the end a little model scene bushes and grass. The station have illumination also it’s made from simple led stripes.:

I made a little box to the north entrance, it’s also non-exist, just this area be too empty without it,  so i decided i don’t care i put something here 🙂

That's all, in this year i would like to make the signal light and replace the dummies.

There's two of us in Poland, we work in different scales and we're conflicted over politics.

@Coromantwhere on the layout is that spur from the two last photos?

Nice stuff coromant! Like the news stand.

@Jaco3011 keep looking for folks. One way to find others is to get some small loop going and go to some train or other public events to start trolling for folks that may have an interest you can nurture. Out club started with just a few of us and we did Kato unitrack set up on the fly and just dropped down scenery pieces and buildings. It was able to help find new members over the years. Doing a non commercial gauge or foreign place (Ie japan) can limit your potential interest, but worth giving it a shot. Also some clubs sort of meet in the middle and do some more standard thing as a group (so your investment in something different from your main interest is low) to have a group thing to do and show at public events. Doing something like Ttrak as a group is a great way to teach and learn all of the modeling techniques and share. With time some of your main interests may run off on others and visa versa! Doing a Ttrak module or two is little investment and even if not your scale or gauge you can just get one interesting small train to run at meets and display on your modules at home as a little diorama. Ttrak modules are a fantastic way to learn scenery techniques or try new ones or just experiment more than you might with larger things,

yes politics can be an issue Andy  something we really avoid in our club. I couldn’t honestly tell you the politics of most of the club members for sure, so it can be done. Also why one of the strongest forum guidelines is to stay away from politics. The hobby can help bridge those divides and provide a safe place to interact and learn from each other.

As Coromant became active in this forum I present you some pictures about my latest T-trak modul. I am pretty sure that I have already shown you some pictures from it, but at least it will be all of them in one place.

Part 1:

The size of the module following the smallest T-trak standard module so 308 * 210 mm. I wanted to show an imagined Japanese metropolitan theme with taller buildings and a bridge across the rails so a little bit different from the modules I have built so far. You can already see the big picture on picture nr2, obviously at the very beginning I just put the buildings on the module as I imagined. A subway package from Tomytec had been stucked in my drawer for a few years now, I thought now it is the time to use it, and so the emptiness around the bridge could be dissolved. The problem was that the sheet that formed the basis of the module had to be cut a bit to fit the set. After some drilling, carving, hole sealing and gluing, the structures were put in place, after which I painted the whole motherboard with Tamiya road paint, as I imagined a lot of concrete for the module anyway, I didn't want to plant a park or similar green vegetation anywhere. Then I looked through my fence stock and finally the brown roadside fence from the Unitram set won over as a barrier separating people from the rails, so they also got on one side of the rails, plus the strip leading to the metro exit, which was originally a self-adhesive platform set, cutting out the yellow part looks great on a street surface. On the other side of the rails I used different foil based fence, which I glued on styrene sheet painted in concrete color. I had to break the straight line of the fence because of the overhead line bracket, but I think that adds to the look.

Part 2:

I basically wanted to use Tomytec’s factory set as a bridge, but I soon had to realize that it wasn’t designed for a 210mm module depth, so I had to remanufacture the road surface itself. The basis of this was, of course, a styrene sheet, cut to size and painted with road paint, glued a self-adhesive road strip in the middle, and the whole bridge got some dirt. The result is far from the work of the pros, but looks okay for me and better than left is in original condition. I also struggled with the buildings a bit, trying different weathering techniques, then realized the viewer side of them won’t show much of it anyway, so I was a little more concerned with the interior. The empty surfaces behind the large windows of the office buildings do not look good even from a distance, I wanted to place something distracting in them, so there were painted tiles on some floors and an advertising sticker on the windows. Roughly here was the moment I put my neon green Kirara train on the module, partly to see how the overall effect would work, and partly because I realized I hadn’t tested to see if my vehicles could fit with a pantograph lifted under the bridge. So good advice: whatever you build above the track, first see if it fits underneath everything! Fortunately, there was no problem with that... However, I realized that the low fence on the closer side as a separator from the trains didn’t look good on its own, so I came to hedge planting. For this, I also made a flower bed box from styrene, filled it with ground leaf, and then glued some hedge to it. The sight changed immediately, didn't it? In some places I put additional ballast around the track.

Part 3:

Behind the subway exit on the other side of the rail, under the bridge, I started to build a parking lot with signs for it. Although I intended the streets to be pedestrian streets without car traffic, I glued some strips of road from a self-adhesive roll. I didn’t expect the strip to shrink a bit, so the result became worst than I expected as I learned it a few days later. I also grabbed some chalk dust to do the dirt on the road surface, making the whole thing a little more lifelike. Here came the moment for me to take out all of my people and car collection from the last few years (not too many sadly) and start to put them to the module adding some life to it. I also made some advertisements to the wall of the buildings as those are needed for a normal metropolitan look.

Part 4:

As a last part of this process I put some non-working lights to the bridge, inserted the huge advertisements and added an E235 car to present some photos.

I know it is missing lots of street furnitures, maybe in the future I will add these (first I have to buy them...).

The end. Thanks for watching. 😁

Hi Jaco!

This is the whole station (in 2018), the down of the picture is the module you see the pictures before. The spur is the line to Shin-Tsurumi train depot and freight terminal on the north entrance of Shin-Kawasaki:
