The  enoden bus looks so great!!  When you get it moving I hope to see some pictures or video. :)

Took sometime last night and converted the Enokun bus into a moving bus ~ Here's the video:

Found the original Enokun bus video here:

I have to say, the model is really very good and accurate! I'm glad i got it, and it's gonna remain as a moving bus on my layout ~~

Also had some fun converting the Ibaraki Girls & Panzer bus:

Now i'm very interested to turn more buses into moving bus! It's fun to watch!

Nice ~ Trying to order some Kyosho buses to try out the quality too.

Saw this on Yahoo Auctions: http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e140036116

Man that's beautiful!

I wonder how N gaugers in Japan paint their buses so beautifully? There are alot of custom made buses on sale in Yahoo Auctions that sell very well and look very good ~

Anyone has experience in painting those 'empty' buses that come when you purchase with either the bus collection cases or the basic moving bus sets?

This guy has a few kyosho buses and he posts worldwide

Thanks Bri! However, he only has local buses at the moment.. I'll like to get the highway bus types instead, but i'll hang around his shop for a while to see if any pops up...

Haven't been actively stalking the internet due to major work flow, but here's some fantastic news from Tomytec, especially good for bus fans like myself!

http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/index.html

There's just too many to list! Some include:

1) 3 sets of new 2-buses set, mainly from Tohoku region and 1 from Iwate. Mainly tour buses, think to accommodate with the going to release BM-03 for tour buses

2) Car Collection L1 photos, Railway collection 19, some train sets including a Tram...

3) New hot springs diorama base that accommodates the new 'One-Day Spa' and Spa Inn D releasing in December, and connects with the older version of the hot spring town

4) Some buildings, including 2 new farm houses, a Pachinko house and 2 'Real Estate offices' in Shonan style

5) Some diorama materials

6) My favorite, the moving bus junction is going to be released in March! HORRAY! This news brings good planning for my bus layout ~~

Ditto that Densha ~

Let's leave this solely for buses, shall we?

Speaking of which, Refer to the video links of the new 2-bus set buses, mainly running in the Tohoku region:

JRバス東北みずうみ号 - Coloured after the E5 Hayabusa ~

JRバス東北白樺号

I couldn't find the Super-Komachi colour bus or any related videos on it...

Kids, get mad hype:

http://www.1999.co.jp/10250633

Road crossings are here.

I'm hyped! And pre-ordered! I guess the X-002 is the set to go since it gives you the junction itself, the stop roads required and the linking roads from the junction, together with some other curve road parts to link them all together ~

What's interesting is, there isn't a turnout switch? Would be interesting to know how the switching process works ...

Hi Densha:

Well, i did mention a little bit sometime back on this Super Komachi Livery bus.. It's a nice looking bus! But i couldn't find any videos on the Super Komachi Livery unfortunately...

On another note, Tomytec released more information on the 2 'Whole Japan' series bus:  http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus_zenkoku/index.html

The Rainbow bus looks really good!

So... As mentioned in my other thread, i finally got my hands on the Rillakuma bus that was sold only at the fair on 07 Dec 2013:

http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/news/1311/28_event01.html

Following the delicious videos (posted above), i had to get my hands on at least one of them! They were selling like hotcakes off Yahoo Auctions! I was very lucky to secure one!

Here are the pictures... They're really very very cute!

By the way, they're also compatible with BM-01 moving bus system so that means you can make them a moving bus (which i'll definitely do)... The base model of the bus is the Isuzu Erga, based off the bus models in bus collection 7.

So while i'm taking photos, i took out my Evangelion Odakyu bus and took some pictures. Also, the bus is compatible with the new BM-03 for high speed (tour) buses and boy they look good running around!

Enjoy the pictures!

@JR500 - if you want to sell some of your taxis, by all means let me know :)  I will take as many as you can offer, especially the orange ones.  I would gladly take a whole 'car collection' 12 x 3 box of orange, yellow, and green taxis if such a thing were available!

Attention! New Tomytec taxis, exactly like the ones shown above, are up for pre-order!

Guest keio6000

Hi JR500 thanks for the heads up!  The price is a bit extortionate (JPY 2000 list for 4 cars?  These are the same cars that I was getting for JPY 150 each or so a few years ago?) but it is very good news.  The first taxi (yellow one) is perfect.

I agree the Toei bus set is great.  Happy i got multiple copies of the same set when it came out a few years ago - again, at less than half the current list price. :(  I also have 7 copies of the keio 5-bus set that is now selling for crazy money on yahoo jp.  if i had the time to reverse sell them, i probably should as i bought them for JPY 1200 each and now they're going for upwards of 7000 and even 10000 each (none on yahoo now, i just checked).

however, there are still bargains to be had:  http://page14.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s359270020#enlargeimg

Recently got my hands on a few Tomytec bus collection sets, especially those special ones, or '事業者特注品' Made for Bus Companies, bus sets that are otherwise difficult to get. These are either sold at special events or places, usually at the bus terminus of the respective companies, or some local (Japanese) hobby shops might carry them.

There are tons of such 事業者特注品 bus sets around, almost endless to state all. Although the 'Perfect Bus Manual' did mention some, there were much more than those listed inside, including the newer ones (compatible with moving bus system).

I was lucky to be able to get my hands on some of them. As such, would like to share some of the pictures of them here for fellow bus lovers like myself:

They include a list of 事業者特注品 sets as follows:

1) Osaka bus CNG type

2) Osaka bus set 1

3) Osaka bus set 2

4) Itami City bus set

5) Hakone Local bus set

6) Odakyu Evangelion High speed bus set

7) Hokkaido bus set 1

8) Hokkaido bus set 2

9) Nishitetsu Bus set 100 Anv

10) Kobe bus set

11) Hato bus set

12) Enoden bus set 1 (Painted bus with Enokun)

13) Kawasaki bus set 70 Anv

14) Keihan bus set

15) Enoden bus set 2

16) Kure City bus set

17) Keihan bus set 90 Anv

18) Sotetsu bus set

19) Hanshin bus set (Salad Express <- cute name! Love the vegetables)

20) Tokyu bus set

21) Odakyu bus set 2

22) Nara bus set 50 Anv

23) Alpico bus set

24) Tachikawa city Rilakuma special bus set

And a nice combination picture of them all, and how they are stored.

Hope you guys enjoy the bus pictures as much as I do! I love them buses!

Thanks Jeff!

Aside from trains, I love Japanese buses too. There's something that Japanese people do that I really like. Their passion for doing things right, professionalism and the desire to always improve can also be seen in bus drivers. They're just doing everything in view to give the best services to customers. Take efforts to paint them and celebrate various milestones like anniversaries with special paintings, just beautiful. It's the spirit Singapore can really need to learn from.

Little off point there, but these Tomytec buses are just beautiful. Although they are more or less the same models around, the different painting schemes are just so nice and the multitude of bus companies around makes collecting the fun! Sure! Let me know if there ever was a chance for me to show my bus collections!  :)

yes very true and such a variety is available and in such good detail for the price to boot!

bus fanning is big in japan as well!

More bus fever!

Well, actually didn't get new models, but organized the buses with my new storage cases.

Cool to keep them in storage cases instead of hiding inside their original box which I can't see. Now I can view and play with them easily and anytime I want ¬¬¬

Speaking of which, each storage case comes with an unpainted model. I think I want to try painting one myself to customise it. I'm not a good painter at all and am very afraid to ruin the model... They're a lot of very skilful painters out there that paints these buses to perfection and sell them (which people ARE buying them at HIGH prices) on Yahoo Auctions. Some of them are painted so very nicely!
