It's rebuilt tram trailer used as an advertisment for the Basel Kantonalbank, but still functional and able to carry passengers.

It has even tail lights inside the nose.

Oh, can I make a thread suggestion?

The most boring trains.  There must be thousands of candidates.  And arguments.  ;)

Here is the aforementioned Panda Train in service

I must say I do like the train... if it were not for the Panda cabins though.

How about the mastodontic Colorado railcar? http://tonysissons.zenfolio.com/img/s2/v1/p533682508-3.jpg

Wow, its like they didnt put any effort into the look at all.  I've seen tour busses that are more appealing.  The flag mustache isnt doing it any favors.

I actually like this guy, it looks rugged and industrial, but not too busy on the outside.

Looks very Mad Max post-apocalyptic.

I really liked the Blue Tiger as a kid. I even had a H0 gauge model. Should probably still be around somewhere.

I think it would actually look really good in another colour.

HVLE still operates a few of them, in an orange and silver paint scheme.

Also Malaysia bought 20 locomotives and designated them as "Class 26".

...and according to wikipedia they are Sultan Ibrahim of Johor's favourite locomotives.

He's a railway enthusiast and the Sultan of Johor, a state of Malaysia (wich is a federative constitutional monarchy). He drove one in 2011 when Tanjong Pagar station closed.

New one:

London Underground F stock, in service from 1920 to 1960 on the Metropolitan Line. It's not a converted intermediate car nor one built with spare pieces.

They where born that way.

Those oval windows are the actual cab windows. and those four circles on the lower part of the body are the headlights' movable covers.

Because switching them off wasn't enough.

Reminds me of the Pacific Electric blimp class, although I'll admit to being rather fond of these cars.  A fun fact, the Hankyu railway is modeled after the Pacific Electric, from building new residential areas and shopping centers to create demand, down to the red/orange color of their trains.

First Time In Awhile

PE also had a passenger/baggage rebuild with triple portholes.  (I'll admit this one is kinda ugly)

Dunno if it is real or just a photoshop, but according to the description it is a 1980s prototype design for the "New Generation Suburban Trains",

what will became the 211, 213, 719 and  415 series (it actually seems to be based on the early version of the latter).
