Thanks. Still lots to do. Lol. I just noticed that ballasting on the second last pic sucks. I'll have to add it to the list. :-)

I guess the ballasting on the second last is how you want it to look i guess if it`s a low budget line hehe.

I like the roof tops though on last pic

I need to get minions to work on that ballasting.

Roof tops? That's just dust and my finger prints. Lol

Gday Gang,

Here are the latest pics. Started working the Overhead Station area and the modern downtown. Still abit of detailing to go but its coming along.  The plexiglass still has the protective wrap on for now.

Yes Spiff, the Holiday Inn building looks good! I think I saw this somewhere before, is it from ebay?

Nice road making! Can I know how you made it?

500 i think he just painted it, good job though.

Sammy one suggestion if you want to make road is plaster and use some thick double sided tap to make the road shape then pour and smooth the plaster. then sand and paint.

Hi,

The Holiday Inn, the Mc D's and a couple of other buildings were from the ebay seller Ansky98. Good guy to deal with.

The roads and lines are printed from a computer. I print it on full size sheets of address labels that have an adhesive backing to it. I then cut to fit. Some of the lines were a pain and I will redo one or two eventually.

Hi katoftw,

It's been awhile since I did the bashing, but it's two stations with the expansion kit. The bashing was straight forward. Some minor trimming and glueing. I used the extra bits to connect the station to the car park. I also had to glue the one one canopy to to the mismatched platform. I'll eventually get a matched platform. I'm debating on getting the track matched also or just leaving it as trains will be parked on it anyways.

I got most of my info from Capt. O's site:

Gday Gang,

Just a quick update. I finally got some trains running today. Its probably been 4 months since the last train ran.  Here is a short videoon the run.

Apologies for the lousy camera work and video quaility.

Wow wonderful track work Spiff! The tracks and layout looks great! Like the mountain region with all those tracks!

*Although I wished I know what the trains were...

Thanks for the comments. I really need to get my kid to video the layout with a good camera for me lol. It's nice to have 95% of the heavy and messy work done. The fascia work is on hold for now as I need to figure out which route I'm going with the control panel and video camera (for the hidden yard).

JR500- the trains are Liliput FLIRT's. Really nice models. Quinntopia has a review:

G'day Gang,

Finally been able to abit more to the layout. I'm spending most of my time of late trying to figure switch panels but have managed to add some trees.

Some before (really early construction) to almost done mountain area.

Quick update:

The last spike was nailed in this weekend. It took longer than I thought, just a couple of weeks past 4 years.  I finished off the area the next to the station and added some extra sidings.

Pics of the layout 4 years ago, last spike and the new sidings.  The sidings are mix of curved peco and Kato #4 and single cross over switches. I need to do some ballasting touch up.  Switch panels next.
