Our service provider is pulling the plug on our server (they are getting out of the hosting business) in about four days. Given such short notice, we are working fervently to migrate JNSForum to a new provider. The schedule for the transfer is just now rather murky, so expect that over the course of this week there will be at least one major hiccup, and perhaps several smaller ones, as we take this server down, and erect it anew elsewhere.

The upshot is the new server should be faster and more reliable, which should cheer all who read this!

That's a pity, but hopefully the new server will be more reliable. I'm sure the forum will be even more awesome when this is all behind us.

After all the work just done with the software switch this must be extremely galling for you guys, hope the switch goes as smoothly as it can.

It's slightly annoying yes. There's a fair chance the forum will be down for a fairly long period of time. We need to make a full backup of all the files and the database, and then move all that over to the new server. Obviously, the forum needs to be shut down/set to maintenance mode so no new posts are being made. The DNS servers might also take a while to be updated with the new IP address.

We're working on getting a new server set up, and hopefully the move will work out without a problem, but keep in mind the forum might be closed/in maintenance mode/unavailable in general for a day or so.

Martijn and Don,

Please take your time, we can all take a jns holiday for as long as it takes you to do this comfortably! dont stress yourselves over this at all, take your time, do it right and get some sleep/have a life!

Thanks again for all your efforts.
