bronze pick up strip

okay so i had to pull apart my kiha 91 as it got a bit of dirt in the cog, i pulled it apart and the bronze stips across the car to pick up power have this stained colour forming like they are degrading away.

 

anything i should do or are these easy to just replace by finiding one from a tomix cheap tomix or kato power unit or chasis?

At the moment it's not causing an issue but always good to know if it does become a problem with pickup later

I doubt that the oxidation will present much of an issue, but if you are worried, a little fine-grit sandpaper will do it right.

I was woried sanding it will eventuall ruin the contact. conviniently the majority of it is where the motor contacts touch .

 

I think glue of some sort got in the motor too some how I have no idea but it makes a squeaky noise some times. I think I may just buy the motor unit they now sell ....
