I wonder if these railway coaches are made in Japan- the bogies appear to be similar to JNR swing hanger coil spring types.

I'm amazed they got video footage of a train out of Rangoon, Burma at all.

I guess that's actually a standard way of getting on the train there, considering the train personnel are actually helping them get on ;)

I won't pick on the Burmese, who have suffered more than anybody deserves, but that's got to be the worst energy-saving idea I've ever seen.

I guess you have to be able to run the 100m in at least 13sec if you want to take the train in Burma.

I was adopted as a token white dude by the local Burmese community here in Maryland. I was suppose to leave for Mae Sot, Thailand then over to Burma this past December. After hearing that two of the other journalists I was suppose to go over with got separated from their KLA escorts and picked up by the Burmese government, I'm glad I didn't go.
