From Japan Today. I guess that's why there are so many fences along the tracks and over bridges, especially the Shinkansen ones. Hope there are no copycats.

Would be interesting to know what they are charged with, I would assume that at 16 they are still minors under the law in Japan, here that would mean all the police could do is give them a good talking to and send them home. Good that they are caught though, here rock throwers attack a couple of trains then disappear for a while then come back, they can spend a whole night in one location seemingly immune to getting caught. Perhaps in Japan where trains themselves have a higher status than here catching those who throw rocks at them is a higher priority.
