Are you living in the future? 😊

Haha~ cause I have already pre-ordered the Kato one, and would like to know if I am making a mistake and should order the Tomix one instead ~  🙂

I pre ordered the kyushu 4 bus set. Has a bus i wanted from the popendetta die cast over price version that has long been out of stock.. Plus another that will replace a popendetta version. I prefer the Tomix versions of the popendetta version. And if i wanna motorize at a later date. Tomytec is better.

Me too! But I guess I don't need any reasons as to why I am pre-ordering them... being a bus nerd and all ~  🙂

although the prices seems to be doing a little of a climb themselves...

What's interesting is the Twilight Express... didn't Kato just re-release this in December 2018? Tomix also did the holy grail of the sayonara Twilight express set...

May I know what's wrong with the light on the E5?

Many more from Tomytec!

Railway collection 28 is mighty interesting with that Hybrid trains!

Can anyone help to see what is this about? Seems like some sort of a ruffle or something..

Its a contest. 200 of the A prize & 800 of the B will be raffled to those who purchase tickets

Will Tomix continue to do this, simply printing on a last run logo and releasing another set that has already been made?

Yes 😁

(In all seriousness I suppose it probably is fairly cheap to produce and at least increases the availability of sets for people who didn't get them the first time around.  19k yen for an 11 car set is a pretty fair price too, so at least they aren't price gouging on the inclusion of a "last run" decal.)

I have noticed that they seem to do what I'd call an "ultimate" version of a train just after retirement. Witness the "Sayonara XYZ" packs with the full train and examples of every type of loco which hauled it.

To be fair though, when it comes to Tomix's and Kato's Odakyu Romance cars I get the feeling that they're either not too popular or simply available in way too great numbers as they're usually heavily discounted in Japanese stores even when new. Used ones are available for well under 10k.

The Takasaki 'Thank You 115 Series' from Tomix was pretty nicely done, definitely didn't feel like I was just getting re-hashed 115 series. Though it's kind of hard to have too many Shonan color 115 Series when you run JR East...

And there is still the Tomix 93530 Omiya World limited edition Gunma DC type 115s ~

New motors and lighting systems. Been a few others have been released with this tag.

So we have a Tomytec/Tomix Standard Grade/Tomix High Grade/Tomix Progressive Grade lineup? Standard grade was mostly upgradable to high grade, but i wonder if any PG parts will be available as upgrade parts for other sets?

Sorry, posted this original post in the wrong thread. On topic though: The Mizukaze! OMG!

WOW! That Mizukaze!!  🙂 Now is the wonder about that price tag... assuming it's a full consist limited edition set like the Shimakaze perhaps? Like in the region of 35 to 40k or so?

Luckily nothing much for me... the 700 is tempting, but I guess the rail star still wins it for its unique livery...

Das Steinkopf

Finally a DF200-200 will be released, I have put one on preorder as it will be nice to have a somewhat more modern diesel join the ranks of my roster which is currently dominated by DE10-1000/1500's and DD51-800's.

The Koki 107's I am a bit so so about as already have 20 of them of which 12 are Tomix versions, I also have plenty of Sieno containers of varying types including 5 U54-3000's as well as 3 U54-3800's on pre order so I am not really to add more to the collection.

It's nice to see the Taki 1000's back in production this time in the original Japan Oil Terminal livery that lasted up until about 2006-2007, it's a little early for me as I have a timeline starting from 2012 to current day for my rolling stock, that said it will be great for people who model the from the 1990's through to the early 2000's.

Wow that twilight mizukazi looks amazing.  I really hope kato announces one too so the competition brings the price down (also so I can snag the dcc ready version).

The Mizukaze looks even more amazing up close in person. I saw it at Kyoto station on the day we were departing back to the USA. Fortunately, I have a rule that I must have been on the train before I buy the N-gauge edition. And the Mizukaze seems always sold out and really, really expensive, and I'm sure they wouldn't like our 2 year old....

I was somewhat interested in the TNOS stuff she was looking at.  Look like Tomix have added more possible designs to their system.  And the SD card and PC computer options are now available?  But lack of language skills allowed to do know the proper details.

Oh and that new temple look interssting.  Looks like it comes with a decent 5cm staircase, so you can prop it up on a hill in your layout.

The new options seems to be classical loop control. This is when Tomix could use the full power routing of their turnouts and do 2 reverse loops with 4 sensors. (just a set/reset, so a tnos is overkill for it)

The sd card option was there from the start, but only for software updates. The best would be full programmability like an arduino.

I'm waiting for the new signals...

Nice pearlescent paint on the new romance train. Hard to make that effect work well on small bits like this. Good thing jr has a job now more nice busses for him. Nice temple mods.

I kind of wish that when Tomix released the Yamato Transport koki they had done the same thing as the Seino ones, a single car and a 4 car set for people who want multiples without having to renumber. I don''t have any 31' Seino containers so this is kind of a no-brainer for me,  the takis are a nice addition too to add a different looking one to a train.
