Converting Kato signal for DCC use

Hi,

I have 2 of these signals from my DC layout days. 

Has anyone been able to convert these for DCC use?

I pulled apart one of mine a few years ago. It will take a lot of work to convert to DCC. 

 

Since the signal logic is designed to run off the polarity of the rail, you need to isolate that circuit and create a new circuit to trigger the signals by using IR. I found that it was best to gut the signal and create a little circuit below the track. At this point I stopped investigating it.
