I thought it was an April fools joke from some year when I first saw it...nevertheless willing to see how well kato's going to do the job.

It's surprising, that would be the third 300 released in less than 12 months. MA released last December and Tomix's should be released this month.

It’s certainly surprising but I’d imagine the shinkansen model market is probably the larger of the interests within Japanese N gauge internationally.

There’s plenty of room in the market for another of the main 4 to do their version.

@KamomeFor sure. I also think there is enough interest for all of them to make one more version, but I feel like Kato could have maybe waited a couple more years. I guess that pre-announcement was a way to tell people that hadn't pre-ordered the Tomix version: "Hey, look, we will also make one. No need to rush to the shops next week."

As a good natured note, we can definitely see that not everyone reads the announcement threads. These were all posted yesterday 🙂

(A  lot) More pictures at Yokohama models, also in better size/resolutions. For the moment, only Kato and Tomix. MA and GM will follow later presumably.

I do hope Tomix decide to release those JOT and MCLC containers, that they’re releasing with the Farewell DD51 set, at a later date.

The preorders finished very quickly and with a price tag of up to ¥70,000, there’s gonna be some silly prices on the used market.

I second you on that with the containers, given that Tomix has the moulds for these containers they are bound to be released in packs as well at some time in the future.
