One year to opening of "Umekita New Station" (Osaka Station underground platforms)

Media report on the approx. 80% complete Umekita station complex on the former JR Freight terminal adjacent to JR Osaka Station.  Two island platforms/four through tracks layout with full length platform screen doors that will accommodate different rolling stock types.  Projected opening spring 2023.

Brilliant thanks for the update! Given the size of the station and it's location, I found it odd that there were so few updates available online.

 

Bit of a game changer for passengers travelling from Kansai airport - no more Shin Osaka or Namba + transfer worries anymore!
