Help in identifying rail cars

Hi, everyone,

I don't know where to ask this question...

On the WWW I came across 2 pictures for my private documentation. In the first picture I can roughly see which type of wagon, here possibly SEKI 3000, is behind the locomotive ED76-500. I'm not so sure about the second picture. I have now collected alot of pictures from the JNR period on Hokkaido, but the car type has not turned up yet... It looks like they are HOKI type cars? But it doesn't look like the HOKI5700 type or HOKI10000 I know?

Thank you for your help :-)

It's hard to make out at this angle. I tried to compare it to some of the Hokis on this site, maybe they are Hoki6800, although the Japanese Wikipedia has no evidence they operated in Hokkaido. In my opinion it could still be a Hoki5700.

I have found another blog with some D51 towing some Hokis, maybe they are similar, although there, too, I don't know what type they are exactly. Hoki 3500 maybe...

Maybe you can find more pictures of them if you search for the line those photo were taken on? Asari-Zenibako / Hakodate Main Line. Thought that's probably the main Main Line on Hokkaido 😄

Almost impossible at this angle and quality.

I also like the Hoki 6800 as the details top-side looks somewhat similar, but I think Yavaris found the culprits:

They look a lot more like it this picture, https://blog.goo.ne.jp/ef5831shimonoseki/e/24f445ce2ed0b028f85f53c0aade266e, top-details, angled-sides and steps looks very similar.

The lid positions of Hoki5700 look a lot different compared to that photo tho?

I'm with Yavaris and disturbman here, those are Hoki3500

Agreed, the sides configuration also do not match the ホキ5700. The Hokis on the pictures have flat side-sides, and the end-sides partially curve inwards. To me, these are this type of ホキ3500.

Ah, yes! I made a mistake by copy the HOKI-Number... yes you are right! Thank you very much!

I see, this type of ca is made for transport cement. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/国鉄ホキ3500形貨車

So the next bigger factory in the near of the Hakodate Main Line with rail conection in this time was Taiheiyo Cement Co., Ltd. Kamiiso Factory in Kamiiso / Hakodate. But unfortunately, the former company ended rail traffic between 1973 and 1989. https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/日本セメント上磯鉄道

If you are looking to model this train, Kofu Models sells a HoKi 3500 kit.

They have a YJA page (https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/seller/sinfukabusikikaisya) and an online shop (https://marujuko.base.shop/), in case you prefer to use RGR, MTP rather than a proxy service.

The HoKis in question must have been these:
8 cars Nippon Cement (Hoki 19 --Hoki 26 → Hoki 3519 --Hoki 3526)
5 cars Nippon Cement (Hoki 57 --Hoki 61 → Hoki 3557 --Hoki 3651)

As per Wiki, these are the only ones that were owned by the company owning the plant in Kamiiso.
