You Tube Channels (for Japanese trains)

Seems like we do not have a thread of active You Tube video channels. These channels generally are train only, although the odd exception may creep in. The first link is a catalog of all the poster's videos and the second link is a sample video.

Great idea for a thread Bill.  I've seen several videos recently I meant to post, but didn't get to it.

karibajct

https://www.youtube.com/user/karibajct/videos

nimo5 - I've been subscribed to his channel for at least 10 years, his videos are still excellent and really show off Shimane prefecture.

https://www.youtube.com/c/nimo5/videos

shio banira - salt vanilla? - a more recent find, he often focuses on yard/junction operations and often includes freight.  Helpful diagrams and maps.

https://www.youtube.com/c/塩バニラ/videos

BTY Channel - lots of good front view videos including some bus videos way back in the upload history.  Below is the Sotetsu through-service from the JR Saikyo line to their own main line, Shinjuku to Ebina.

Fantastic idea for a thread thanks Bill.

A few of my most watched channels, aside from Ayokoi!

電車の動画 -Train Movies-

https://www.youtube.com/c/電車の動画TrainMovies/videos

The full Tokaido Line (all 7hrs 16mins of it!) from Tokyo to Kobe. Favourite stretch is from Ogaki (5:06) to Maibara (5:39).... especially from Ogaki to Tarui, and from Kashiwabara to Maibara.

Y's Train window

https://www.youtube.com/user/biomessiah2008/videos

Here's a lovely meander through Shikoku, Tokushima to Takamatsu

Nagomi View

https://www.youtube.com/c/nagomiview/videos

A nice run from Kyoto to Kashikojima on the Shimakaze

HKASAMA

https://www.youtube.com/c/HKASAMA/videos

Great little run between Nagano and Yudanaka in winter

Here's my favourite channel that I've found so far: JP Rail

Many of the videos go into detail about the economic factors of projects or operations, and discuss future plans. I find it really interesting and well explained. I've learned a lot about the rail network, particularly the Shinkansen network. This video is about twinning the Seikan tunnel:

I don't bother subscribing to many channels on YouTube, but I definitely did for this one. It's been a few months since a video was posted, so maybe the creator is running out of topics, got busy with life, or lost interest. I hope there's more to come in the future.

Here's a video that came up in my feed the other day that has become a favourite:

Talk about "playing all the hits"! 100 series in fresh green, 300 series, 700 series railstar,  500 series, and an N700 for good measure. Just one 0 series away from perfection... Quite a brief Goldilocks era when the operation of all these different Shinkansens overlapped! Very cool. Would be neat to recreate this video in n scale.

JP Rail is amazing - I'm so sad that he has not been posting new videos recently. The amount of time and care he takes over his videos is incredible.

If he does read this forum, I hope he's planning to return soon!

Incredible video - thanks for posting. "Playing all the hits" - I couldn't have put it better myself, what a line-up.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

メリークリスマス!

Re-posting this here from another thread:

I filmed another train video, this time walking along the Tokyu Setagaya Street Tramline, here in Tokyo. The Setagaya Line is only 1 of 2 remaining street tramways in the metropolis of Tokyo.

Currently, due to COVID-19, there is a plastic barrier surrounding the cab driver area, which makes it difficult to film a "cab view video".

This ASMR virtual walk takes about 1 hour, showing the entire Setagaya Line starting at Shimo-Takaido Station and finishing at Sangenjaya Station. There are 10 stations along the route, with guarded and unguarded crossings that can be seen as the rail line winds its way through the sleepy neighbourhoods of Setagaya Ward. The rolling stock (Train Model), which you'll see of a lot in the video is the Tokyu 300 series.

If you have any comments or further train-related requests, please let me know! Thanks for all of your continued support! Please consider subscribing, if you like the content!
