Catastrophic floods in Germany damages 600 km of railway track, 7 trains destroyed.

After the recent catastrophic floods in Germany, 600 km of railway track and 80 stations have been damaged, 24 km of track and 7 bridges are completely destroyed, 7 trains drowned and have to be scrapped. Repairs will take months.

121 people were killed in the floods and mudslides, after a record amount of rain fell in Northrhine Westphalia/Rheinland Pfalz region. The flooding also hit Belgium, The Netherlands, and (a few days later) Upper Bavaria and Austria.
