As photographer, what I love on those pictures of 70's and 80's is the perfect management of the depth thus aperture & speed. So many people now have a camera and just click on a button with the "green setup" resulting in a correct picture, but not an outstanding pict. Here all the details are there from the foreground to the background (hyperfocal setting ?? maybe ...). Of course there is a small blurry zone onto the second train but it can either be caused by a train in motion, of the quality of the lens.

Anyway, great picture in B&W.

Thank you for your comment.

I also think photos which are taken with latest digital cameras are "image" not "picture".

Really impressed bythe quality of your shots. Quite no blur (and no blur on many of them) and a real control of the depth despite many of them were shot on rolling stocks in motion.

What film did you use at that time ? Fuji 400 ASA ? Agfa ? and for b&W Ilford or Agfa ?

@JR East

Great thanks!

I used Kodacolor II(100)-ASA and Fujicolor 100 then.

@Modellbahn JP I'm quite surprise for the Kodacolor as their "colorset" is rougly "warm oriented" so that, time made its effect on colors. I've notice that, the more they've been exposed to high UV, the more they turn 'blue' after a long period. For Fuji, I'm not surprised, their green natural trend moves to blue as the time goes. I wonder if it was Agfa as, their blue natural trend remains stable in time.

See here an example of a restored paper printed shot with Kodak film HERE (July 1983 - France - A depot near to Paris). You clearly see the blue too. For the ones that were printed on a good paper, the color set is not that affected?

You were using 100 ASA ... quite great and thumbs up for the clarity of your pictures. For being sure not to have any blur I would have used a 400 ASA (at that time) with a lower shutter speed to prevent any blur. For sure, it's far easier now with ISO 400, f 5/6 and 1/2000.

Thanks for your comment.

In the middle of 70's, the ASA 400 color film was just built, and when I tried it, but it was very grainy, so I continued to use 100.
The camera is Minolta's SR series. The lenses were also Minolta 55mm, 100mm and 200mm.
Shutter speed was  almost 1/250.

I was in high school (16 or 17 years old) at the time!

In the middle of 70's, ...

@Modellbahn JP.. In the middle of 70's I was 10 years old. For sure, when I was shooting in depot around 1981-1984, I was around 16/18 years old and 400 ASA were quite correct. Anyway, I use to shoot in the different depots with 25 ASA for very sunny days up to 100 ASA. To shoot at night, in B&W with tripod etc ... there was a very special film, used for shooting the stars  and planets at night made by Kodak (the famous "Technical Pan") but it was quite expensive and my results were not great.
