Maintentance platforms

Basically I'm looking for some sort of maintenance platforms, the ones they have in yards to make the crew getting in and out of the trains easier.

From what I could find, Greenmax has these great ones (in various colors):

They are exactly like what I was looking for, but they seem to be out of stock everywhere. Couldn't even find any on Yahoo Japan Auctions either, when trying to look up the part numbers.

So any tips where I could get these Greenmax ones or any similar ones from any brand? What other alternatives are there? Do these usually get restocked, or are these also those pretty much never returning items?

i think little odds and ends like this kind of get put at the bottom of manufacturers’ work lists.

If you can’t wait, something that could get made from some 040/1mm x 0.25”/6mm strip styrene (just keep cutting chunks like 2mm longer each time to make steps) and some etched brass hand railing (several companies in us and england make these) to cut up and bend as needed.

cheers,

jeff

Greenmax has about half a dozen variations of these platforms.   Some can be backordered, some can be reserved and some will be coming into stock later this year. Kind of typical for Greenmax structure kits.  All these are unpainted.

How about this?

Not bad, but doesn't look "japanese" enough to me, like the Greenmax does, for example.

Oh, I didn't even see it said re-release in August. But it also says reservation are closed. What does that mean exactly? Will there be free stock, or they pretty much just manufacture the ammount that has been reserved? Because if will be available for order in August, then I'll wait for it I guess, as these would be perfect.

The londer train washing platform ones also look great. I think the only "downside" of them is that they don't clip directly onto the tracks like the shorter ones do. (Edit: I just noticed that one kit does, the other one doesn't)

If it says reservations closed it is best to the Notify When Available feature. It will send you email when the item is available. it is just a notice of in stock not a reservation. if you find it somewhere else just delete the notice, but if you want go ahead and pick it up before its gone again. This happens a lot with Greenmax structure kits,.

I see. Well I subscribed for notifications for the 2206 and 2205 ones, as so far I couldn't find any of those elsewhere. Hopefully they become available sometimes in the near future.

Finally got myself a set of these 2205 ones from HobbySearch, but just got to assembling them and posting about it.

I have to say, they're really cute! They really give my siding track(s) a bit more life and depo feel. Didn't bother painting them or anything, but I think they still look great.

And here it is with all tracks occupied. I also love how one piece perfectly fits a 2-car B Train Shorty, so a 2 piece long platform fits my 4-car trains great.
