Toden Arakawa - 2019 trip

Out of those typically tourist-crowded place, let me introduce the Toden Arakawa line, a nice streetcar system. I discovered it in 2010 as I was shooting lanterns at night at Otsuka Station. In 2019, I decided to ride it end-to-end.

I've "blurried" people's face for respecting their privacy. Unfortunately, the weather was poor and the sky white / grey. 

 

Minowabashi Station (n°01) is a asymetric station as the unboarding platform is not at the same place as the boarding one. 

 

 

At Otsuka, on the JR Yamanote line, you can see various models in a short timeframe, the brand new as well the oldest ones. 

 

 

Roughly at the end of the first third of the line, close to Arakawa-shakomae station (n°13), there is the main depot for maintenance and storage at night

 

 

Kōshinzuka Station (n°21) is a bit special as there is a small café for a cup of tea or coffee and a small, piece of cake.

 

 

What is great with the Arakawa line is the trail, sometimes in the middle of the street, sometimes on a green aisle between two raws of buildings

 

 

Finishing at Waseda Statkion (n°30), the ride takes more than an hour. 

 

 

Despite it's non-symetric look, the passengers are unboarding and borading at the same place, but not on the same platform (left - unboarding, right - boarding)

 

 

It would have been better on a sunny day, but I didn't had the choice. Anyway, if you're there at the cherry blossoms, riding this line is really nice.
