The second year that the Nemuro Municipal Government used crowdfunding to sustain the line. Very creative way to use some of the money.

Rather than donating money to what amounts to a facsimile of an amusement park ride, what would be more helpful was if adults got out of their cars and actually used the train to go about their daily business. Ain't gonna happen, of course.
