Can someone please help me get the assy parts numbers for the Kato knuckle style couplers for the Kyushu car train 10-1548? I am trying to take out the arnold rapido couplers and use the knuckle couplers. I also want to have spares of the couplers used beteween the cars. Kato didn't seem to have produced a part list for this model.. Thanks in advance for the help.

If car wagons are the same as the Su Yu 44 mail van bogies, like this picture, you could use the 11-702 like i’ve used on mine. 8F237182-CE57-4E7E-98F8-9FDFD6FCD80D.thumb.jpeg.d18ccfdf15d05efee2056f94529e9b2e.jpegAlternatively you could use the 11-721 which also have air hoses. The 20 series coaches i have (Sakura 10-1141/42) use a different mount so you’d need the 11-722 if they’re the same as the picture.9813ABE4-8045-48A7-B773-80B4637F2F64.thumb.jpeg.d3304469bd9c54db9e373dcbce8272e1.jpegNeither are Assy parts, but accessory parts so should be readily available

Hey Kiran.  The whole set should take kato part 11-702 knuckler coupler which fits into rapido coupler slots.  If you want to have simulated power and control hoses between the coach cars you can use kato part 11-721.  Both are identical other than the second one has the simulated passenger car hoses on it.  I often buy a bunch of each and keep them on hand, they fit so many trains you'll certainly use them eventually!

Edit: if you can share photos of the underside of the coach and baggage cars we can tell you for sure, Kamome brings up a good point there are two styles of coupler clips that truck mounted rapidos can use.

This set will not take any couplers that go into rapido pockets because they have the clipped on couplers with hoses, as shown in the second picture of @Kamome. The end cars of the 20Series coaches take the same couplers as any Kato loco, since they're body-mounted and have the same brass spring plate in their assembly.

EDIT: The freight cars take any Rapido-pocket couplers on the ends where the tail-marks also attach, the rest are again fixed-to-bogie couplers. I'm not sure which couplers exactly come with the set but the ones that come with SLs for example are the same it seems.

Here’s another picture to help.

The top is the SuYu 44. It’s similar to the Waki 10000 of the car train in terms of looks. If the bogie is the same you could use:

11-702 basic knuckle (as pictured)

11-721 knuckle with air hose

28-187 Short knuckle(as pictured, need to use the coupler spring for these) These all fit into the rapido pocket.

If the 20 series passenger coaches are like mine (coach at the bottom) and have this attachment (loop clip) on the end of the bogie.  You would then need 11-722 for a knuckle coupler with air hoses (pictured assemble and unassembled.)

If different, post a picture of the coupler ends and we could help you better. I don’t have the set myself so I am making assumptions based on similar products which I own.

The WaKi in this set have the same loop bogies like the 20系 in your picture except from the outer bogies of the consist, they're like yours.

PS: I removed the first edit of my upper post because I confused 11-722 with 11-721.

Thank you all. I think I will get spares of all the 4 types. I have tried taking some pictures but I don't know if they are helpful. Paul (Railtunes) helped me change some couplers. The first passenger car with the round end, we already changed. We also tried changing the Arnold coupler on the freight car that connects to the last passenger car and I think we should have used the air hose version. I am still yet to the change the coupler on the last passenger car and the last freight car at the end.
