Tony Galiani Posted January 10 I have trouble designing my projects and look to magazines for layout pictures and design ideas. On my last trip to Japan, I found some model railway magazines but their emphasis seems to be more on rolling stock than on layouts. I recently purchased several layout project magazines from Loco-Revue. I like the pictures and designs - they help me visualize scenery and how the trains and track relate to the buildings and other elements on a layout. I am thinking there must be some Japanese magazines like this but, so far, have no luck finding any. Are there any available that I can shop for? bill937ca Posted January 10 There is the Hobby of Model Railroading and N. Hobby Search seems to mainly carry prototype magazines. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1781/0/1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tony Galiani Posted January 10 Thanks. Did a web search and, judging from the cover pictures I found, this seems to be close to what I am looking for. I will look out for it on my next trip. Tony Galiani 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

cteno4 Posted January 11 Still in stock at Amazon. Funny they say oversize and it’s not a big book... shipping is like 50% higher now on it and it seems a tad more expensive than when I picked it up. It’s really a nice layout design book, perfect to just keep your juices flowing on ideas. jeff Quote Share this post Link to post
defor Posted January 11 (edited) The same author also has been continuing the series of small layout designs in ebook addendums. If you have Kindle Unlimited on Amazon Japan they're also eligible as well:https://www.amazon.co.jp/s?i=digital-text&rh=p_27%3A池田邦彦%2Cp_n_feature_nineteen_browse-bin%3A3169286051&dc&qid=1610400986 I should also recommend his twitter as he posts previews of many of his designs before he finishes each book:https://twitter.com/yayotcha Edited January 11 by defor 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

He's a very talented designer. Quote Share this post Link to post
Tony Galiani Posted January 11 Checked out the link and the pictures are actually giving me some ideas. Really like the drawings - and nice to see that even small layouts can have plenty of interest. Ciao, Tony Galiani Quote Share this post Link to post
