In this topic we gather information about rolling stock not covered by Maintenance Car Database. We will stick to Shinkansen as for now.

DD18 and DD19

DD18 and DD19 were snowploughs built around DD51 locomotive. DD18 is the one with V-shaped Russel head, DD19 has a rotary head.

Series 912

Series 912 were 20 DD13 series diesel locomotives converted to standard gauge for construction and maintenance work on Tokaido Shinkansen line. Apart from changing bogeys, additional coupler was installed - the same type as on Shinkansen trains. There were two subseries - first batch numbered 1-16 and second batch numbered 61-64 The latter "60 subseries" were equipped with - not sure here - either just multiple control or special multiple control allowing two locos to be on two ends of the train. All were scrapped in 2011.

You can clearly see the Shinkansen coupler. It was retractable, so the knuckles coupler could be used.
