are you planning on screwing from the top thru the track into the baseboard or just from the bottom into the bottom of the track?

I thought it should be from the top into the baseboard like I did with Lionel Super O track many years ago.

You can use small friend head screws, but these will stick up some.

You can do a tiny countersink and use flat head screws to get the screw head flush with the surface. Little dab of paint then to cover it up if you want

I don’t have any Ho unitrack, but the n scale has columns at the screw points with a hole drilled in them so you can screw from the bottom thru the baseboard or drill out the rest of the way out the top and screw from the top. I would assume Ho does the same thing.

A hot glue gun may be the best and easiest choice. Place the hot glue in the same location of the screw points. I have a test track

that was done with hot glue and its held up.

Yes and usually if you slide a putty knife under it will pop loose if you need to move later.

screwing from the bottom is a challenge as well. Screwing from the top and you have to hide the screw heads.
