On the rare occasions inbound parcels attract the attention of Japanese customs'n'excise, Japan Post charges a whole 250 yen for handling payment of the customs fee, on the doorstep, in cash :D.

Japanese are honest people. 🤣

Don’t mean to restart this topic after so long but how have people in the UK found deliveries via EMS / ParcelForce from Japan lately?

I’ve had 3 parcels get through customs without the dreaded ransom letter demanding a fee and VAT...surprisingly all on big ticket items so I’ve got very lucky (all through Buyee/Yahoo Japan Auctions).

the last few things I had, flew through with no delay or charges.. Its like they are more interested in charging stuff from Europe than Japan. Seeing as I'm about to ship a pachinko and pachislo. I wonder if Fedex will be as kind.

Glad I’m not the only one who’s seen it. Some good has come from Brexit after all 🤣
