That is cool, but a frustrating video. They show their techniques for making fairly ordinary scenery (which aren't particularly ground-breaking), but nothing about how they designed/built the trains and realised the propulsion. I'll have to see if there is more about this.

very cool.

Looks like it runs on linear induction from the track. There are toys that do this but the linear induction is in the train against the set magnets in the tracks, that way no massive wiring/control to the tracks needed (but power has to be battery in train and in this case then rc controlled)

maybe some more making of movies to come or keeping it all sekret!

The news algorithms have done it again because this just showed up on my feed:

Thanks to google translate, it looks like this is a commercially available product from a new company called Noel Co Ltd and you can reserve now and get it in November! 65000 jpy for 3 meters of track and 4 cars. (Probably explains why they don't show how they made it work.) I didn't pay to read the full article, so no idea where/how one would get one.

Ok, so who's going to be the first forum member to order and demo one of these crazy speed demons for us???

That's what you have/can make hills for 😉

Another video here

More background info (the original kickstarter) here

Note the kickstarter failed, but, seems they got funding another way, and now are overwhelmed with reservations.

Official website of the company

http://www.noel.ac/

Reservation details:

http://www.noel.ac/posts/news18.html

Reservations accepted since September 4

I also sent them an e-mail to ask if they accept reservations from abroad.

The set costs 65000 yen, and includes a 3m long oval as well as a 4 car train (and presumably, a power pack? You can see it at 0:36 in the video above).

It could also be for purchase later on Hobbysearch. Hobbysearch already sells their Galaxy Express C62.

Yeah I saw that. It's an interesting price. Some people on FB are speaking that they'd rather shelf it rather than using it on the layout. I'm waiting to see the first impressions
