Back and forth auto-polarity reverser/timer

I been thinking of adding a "back and forth" streetcar line on my new layout using diodes for the end stops, but can someone point me in the right direction for the auto-polarity reverser/timer? N Scale... DC 12V Maximum, standard kato controller.
